Sani Marc’s Food & Beverage division has once again made news—this time for its latest technology able to rapidly detect and destroy biofilms on surfaces in food processing plants. During the CTAQ’s recent 2016 Food Innovation Awards gala, BioDetect and BioDestroy won the coveted Technology and Productivity Prize, impressing the judges with their combined action that keeps surfaces safe from organic contaminants.

Each year, Quebec’s food processing council, the Conseil de la transformation alimentaire du Québec, recognizes the industry’s top efforts to develop and/or launch innovative projects meeting a set of criteria. By adding Sani Marc’s BioDetect/BioDestroy solution to cleaning processes, customers can prevent biofilm formation and avoid the unwanted costs and inconveniences of shock treatments.

How BioDetect and BioDestroy Work

BioDetect is a quality assurance tool that confirms the presence or absence of biofilms on surfaces. When included in quality assurance audit procedures, it allows users to establish acceptable cleaning levels and validate their cleaning operations. This tool can be used daily and is complementary to ATPmetry (ATPmetry verifies cleanliness, whereas BioDetect detects biofilms). BioDestroy, meanwhile, is a foaming sanitizer that destroys biofilms on contact.
