Sani Marc Group Honoured for Its Innovation!

ADRIQ.JPGSani Marc Group's collaboration with the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, Innofibre, Oleotek and the City of Victoriaville was recently honoured by the ADRIQ (Association for the Development of Research and Innovation in Quebec) during its recent "Celebrate Partnership" evening.

This collaborative project involves using waste water and waste heat from factories in Victoriaville's industrial park as nutrients for growing microalgae to obtain a lipid-rich algae biomass. Specific fatty acids are then extracted from these lipids and immediately converted into bio-based ingredients for Sani Marc Group. This is a great opportunity for us to continue the greening of our products. These new ingredients of algal origin could be used in the manufacture of biosurfactants and replace petrochemical ingredients.

Congratulations to the team of Patrick Marchand, Innovation and Development Director, for this project in partnership with the VERTECH network, led by the City of Victoriaville. Louisiana, France and Belgium are also participating in this project.
